Hello friends. This is a series of blog postings which I have written to share with all of you about my trip to Assam from Agra. After a long gap I got some time off from my busy schedule so I decided to plan a trip to some place which was unexplored by me till now. There were many places in the list but I finally shortlisted Assam. I planned this trip with a few friends of mine and all the planning about the travel was undertaken by me.
We chose to travel by air to Assam. There are many modes of travel available to visit but travelling by air is one of the shortest and best ways to save time. We had booked an Air India airlines flight from New Delhi to Guwahati for this. To reach New Delhi from Agra there are many options but the best and most comfortable is by Volvo AC bus which are run by many companies.
We booked seats in the UPSRTC bus which leaves for New Delhi at 6 AM in the morning and reaches Delhi in 3 hours. The bus ride from Agra to Delhi is a superfast travel on the beautiful Delhi Agra Yamuna Expressway. This was the best and most comfortable option of travel in the Agra Guwahati route. We reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport by 11:30 AM and our flight was due in an hour. The check in formalities was already done by us.
The excitement for the trip was building in all of us and we decided about a few places to visit in Assam already. The flight took off on time and after a 2:30 hour direct flight we landed at the Gopinath Bordoloi International airport at Guwahati. The weather in Assam was very cool and it refreshed us all. We could predict the exciting days about to begin.
After checking out our baggage we headed straight to our hotel where we changed and had our lunch. We were now ready to begin our travel in the state of Assam. The first place which we visited here was HayagrivaMadhava Temple.
‘Exercise’ plays a vital role in my daily life. Be it outdoors / indoors / club, I love to start my day with a fitness regime. Usually, I like gyming as it gives an apt feeling of working out as well as fitness. Here are few basic tips; I would like to share with all my readers those who enjoy gym.
Agra looks beautiful during the Navratri festival and those nine days there are pujas in all the houses for Goddess Durga. It’s a festival that brings a lot of joy and for all the ten days and nine nights there is a lot of gaiety and fun and my childhood memories still bring a smile in my lips. This year it starts on October 13th and ends on October 22nd.
The visit to the Husain Sagar Lake enchanted us all with the cool breeze and its divine Buddha statue present in the vicinity. We not only enjoyed the trip to the lake but also did a lot of boating and water sports to pass our time. The food available at the shops nearby was equally amazing. It was our last day in the city so we decided to make the most of it. After the trip to the Lake we went to visit a park located nearby known as the Lumbini Park.
The Park is named as Lumbini as it gives a very awesome view of the Lord Buddha Statue present in the middle of the Lake. It is though a small urban park and since it is located near the Lake there are many people who come there for the evening for picnic and take a stroll at the Park.
People of all age groups can be found in the park enjoying their time. This park was founded in the year 1994 and is maintained by the Buddha Purnima authority. There are many multimedia shows held at the park like laser shows, musical fountains and beam effects for the pleasure of the tourists.
This is a lovely park which one should visit during his trip to the Husain Sagar Lake. The Lake can be visited to witness the synchronised fountains which splash waters as per the music and tunes. The music played is normally Bollywood and Telugu Music which enthrals the crowd. The park is open on all the days except for Mondays.
The park also came in the news during the 2007 bomb blasts in Hyderabad. One of the seven bombs was kept inside the premises of the bomb. There is also a memorial inside the Park which is made in memory of the victims.
The trip to the Lumbini Park concluded our trip to Hyderabad. It is a fantastic and a culturally diverse Indian city to visit. The city balances itself very well between the heritage and legacy of the past and modernity and progress of future. A lot of good memories of the place will stay in our hearts forever.
Various motivational quotes that come from eminent personalities has always inspired me to do better in my life. I have always enjoyed every single moment of my life as an architect since it had always been my dream to be an Architect. I totally believe in the quote from a famous personality, Dr.Kalam, that we should strive our best in walks of our life. That is the only way to give best to our motherland.
The trip to the KBR National park ended on a high note. We were all refreshed after this wonderful visit amidst the lush green surroundings. After the trip to the KBR National Park we went to visit the most popular spot in Hyderabad which is known as the Husain Sagar Lake. There are many manmade lakes which were made by rulers in the ancient times and Husain Sagar Lake is surely one of those majestic lakes of India.
As one enters the boulevard across the lake smooth and cool air caresses them as a welcome to this area. There is a Tank Bund in the lake which serves as the border between the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The Lake was built by the efforts of Hazrat Hussain Shah and is named after him.
The main charm of the lake comes from the monolithic statue of Lord Buddha found in the middle of the lake. The view of the statue from the boulevards of the lake gives a stunning view to capture. There are many activities which one can undertake while visiting the Lake such as water sports, boating, and many other cultural programs which are organised every month.
The Lake is the favourite picnic spot of the city as it was evident from the large number of tourist who had come to visit it. There were selfies being taken everywhere with the background of Lake and the Buddha Statue. There is a Lumbini park near the lake and also an enchanting temple known as the Birla temple. There are many events organised by the government, and private sector near the Lake.
The Lake is located at a very convenient spot and is very well connected with all the major parts of the city. Public transport in the form of taxis and buses are available for the tourists. There are many food joints, street food parlours near the lake for the foodies. After this trip we went to visit one final place in the city which was the nearby Lumbini Park. The Park is located just near to the lake.
