Hi folks, I am back with the next account of my exciting trip to Kolkata. Though an architect by profession, I love travelling and seeing places first. I travel whenever I get an opportunity and this time it was to the authentic place like Kolkata. My friends, two of them, immediately joined me. As we wanted an adventurous and a budget trip, we decided to book our tickets with Indian Railways, which is the largest rail network in Asia. Thus, my train travel from Agra to Kolkata by AII Sdah Express started off. The train AII Sdah Express offers seats in First AC, Second AC, Third AC and Sleeper Class. Since we had a cut-out budget plan, we booked our tickets in the Third AC. The distance from Agra City to Kolkata (Howrah junction) is 1266 km. The total duration of the journey is 20 hours 10 minutes. The train started promptly at 19:45 hours and I was looking forward to an exciting journey.
Though a government-owned enterprise, Indian Railways try hard keeping the coaches clean and our train was not left behind. The pantry services were very frequent and according to need. There was a good and impressive menu for each meal. The food served felt so yummy to our taste buds. I noticed the staff members in the coach well-behaved and good in their services. There were different menus for different classes of travellers. We were provided blankets, pillows, and bed sheets for our comforts in the night. There were many stoppages between start point and destination such as Allahabad Junction, Gaya Junction, Dhanbad Junction, Durgapur, etc. At every stop, we could see and meet different people, cultures and cuisines. I woke up early as I always is while travelling. At 15:55 hours we reached our destination. As expected the train was on time. After such a long train journey we were tried, so decided to hire a taxi and headed to our hotel, Hotel Park Inn Kolkata. The city looked quite busy and I enjoyed the vagaries of the place and weather, which are quite unique for us human beings. My train travel from Agra to Kolkata by AII Sdah Express was truly a wonderful one. Being an architect, I’m always amused by buildings and their designs from around the world. My architectural fascinations range from the ancient Indian monuments to the modern structure that are created by various real estate companies. As an architect, I feel that every beginner should scope the web to look at some of the best designs that wooed the presents market. This allows you to get inspired as well as improve your line of work. Every industry changes with time, so try to educate yourself according to the latest trends. I do this every now and then and it has really helped me in my career. Recently a colleague shared with me the latest design of Vivanta Hotel Bangalore that was published on the web. The best thing about this model is that it was design keeping in mind geographical climate, culture and economy of Bangalore. This spectacular piece of art is located at the Bangalore International Tech Park’s entrance. The designs of Vivanta Hotel was created to make it the prime location of Bangalore. According to me, they have been quite successful in achieving this goal. It sort of connects the IT parks with the progressing Bangalore city. It tends to produce a work and play ambience for the visitors. The hotel is established by the Taj Hotel Group. Vivanta has been one of the most promising Taj brands that represent the innovation and youth of the company. It represents the modern trends and evolving taste of a design-savvy and young generation of business travelers and hotel visitors. This building is picture perfect when it comes to theoretical or artistic point of view. It’s creation will have some of the most innovative strategies that involves the amusing blend of both advanced technology as well as contemporary spaced structure along with landscaped surrounding.
I have seen many architecturally marvelous designs but this one tops the charts. The Taj Group is known for it’s Indian hospitality. Now with such amazing hotel in Bangalore, no one can stop it from inviting countless visitors towards Vivanta Bangalore. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the new Taj Vivanta. Jama Masjid Ahmedabad : This is the beautiful Jama Masjid in Ahmedabad. Jama means big in Arabic. The design of this mosque(masjid) is highly inspired by the Mughal/Islamic architecture. This monument truly represents the history and heritage of Gujarat. This mosque was built in 1656 under the command of Shah Jahan. Jama Masjid is a must visit for every Gujarat tourist.
