The visit to the historic Charminar was truly memorable. The shopping experience at the nearby streets and the local street food made the day wonderful. After this visit we headed to another prominent attraction of the city which was the Golconda Fort. The fort is located on the western outskirts of the city and looks like a little kingdom in itself.
When we reached the fort its view from outside was simply majestic. The gigantic walls of the fort, its huge rustic gates and the ruins are reminiscent of the bygone era. The fort was centre of the diamond trade in the world and as a result expensive, valuable gems like Kohinoor and Daryainoor were excavated from the areas near Golkonda.
The most astounding part of the fort is its 20 feet high walls and huge gates which captures the eye and imaginations of one and all. There are some key attractions inside the fort which one should look for when they visit it. Fateh Darwaza or the gateway of Victory is a prime attraction spot inside the prises of the fort.
As one moves inside the fort he cannot stop but admire the domed apartments, the majestic halls, temples, mosques and the Royal stables which are present in the fort complex. The gardens inside the fort are more than 400 years old. The hiking experience is very good inside the fort so it is advised that people wear some sturdy shoes while visiting the fort.

We also attended the light and sound show in the evening which tells the tale of the fort and the city of Hyderabad. Its history is very well narrated through the light and sound effects. It is another gem of the city which should be visited by one and all that travel to Hyderabad.
When we were done with the visit to the city we left for another prominent attraction of Hyderabad which was the KBR National Park. KBS Park is a famous geological park of the city which houses many rare birds, flowers and animals found in the different parts of the country.
