Public Library on the ridge Shimla : I am a great fan of books and so wished to visit the library at Shimla. The public library of Shimla was truly upto the mark. They had a vast collection of books on varous subjects. The public library is constructed in a traditional fashion. I clicked a few pictures to add to my Shimla Album.
When there is the question of one God, church and temple are equally ranked in the prayers of the human being. Visiting the quiet and solitude premises of the church has always bestowed me with the gift of bliss and harmony. I used to visit the churches wherever I travel, in the city or out of the town. The walls of the church give me strength and the feeling of compassion towards the society and the mankind. It imparts the message of oneness and service before self. The Christ Church Shimla revived me with same feelings again. The distinct features of the church are hypnotizing and hold the attraction till the visitor stays there. The profile of the church can be easily seen from miles away in the vicinity of Shimla. It is known as one of the permanent legacies of the British rule. Colonel JT Boileau is the designer of the church who created its design in the year 1844. The massive clock of the church is the gift of Colonal Dumbleton in 1860. The church has witnessed the following political turmoil of the sub continental India. The good condition and well maintenance of the church is the talk of appraisal. The fascinating stain glass windows reveal the heritage of the church and the town. One of them symbolizes the asset and virtue of Hope, Patience, Faith, Charity, Humility and Fortitude. This is worth seeing and I would like to share these divine features in my blog so that whoever read this blog can come closer to the memorandum of God. I did not know whether I would visit the place again or not and so I was constantly gazing at the features of the church, the idol of Jesus Christ and His deep sacrifice. The prophet of God who sacrificed his life for the well being of the mankind leaves the strong morale of forgive and forget to this world. The day ended with a rejuvenating spirit inside me and I was deeply touched by the Chrict Church Shimla and the message that it imparts to the world of God. It would always remain as a virtue in my heart.
Maldehra Golf Club on Hilltop, shimla: The Naldehra Golf Club in Shimla was truly fabulous. It is a 18 hole golf club and is located at an altitude of 2200 metres. It is one of the oldest Golf Clubs in Inida and was built by Lord Curzon. The impeccable scenic beauty of the place truly mesmerised me.
Choosing to visit Shimla was my right decision as the place is bestowed with multihued destinations and places of interests which also include Tara Devi Temple Shimla. It is located nearly 11 kilometer from Shimla on the National Highway of Kalka and Shimla. So tourists travelling or passing through that highway can easily take a stoppage to visit this temple and offer prayers to Goddess Tara. The shrine resides on the hilltop of Shimla and is surrounded by lush green atmosphere that adds peace and tranquility to the visit of the devotees. To delight the serenity and breathtaking view of the countryside one must definitely visit the temple. The rejuvenating breeze flowing across the temple and the sight of lofty mountains work wonders and add tranquility in the vacation to make it worthwhile for the visitors. Vacation is absolutely meant to break the monotony of the city life. It is hard to seek peace in the hustle and bustle of my city like Agra except the Taj Mahal where people get inspiration of love and peace. The legend narrates the story behind the temple in a very simple manner. It says that Goddess Tara was brought from West Bengal to Shimla 250 years ago when there was the rule of Sen Dynasty. The king used to wear the gold locket with his and the idol of Maa Tara and had a vision of the Goddess with hanuman while hunting in a dense forest. From that day itself he decided to donate a part of land to construct a temple of Goddess Tara so that people coming to visit the temple can cherish the blessings of the Goddess.
I was touched by the narrated story and wanted to be graced by the blessings of Maa Tara. The humble temple and its heavenly features are soothing and rhythmic. The idol of the Goddess is made out of eight precious elements purely described as ‘Ashtadhatu’. Tara Devi Temple Shimla is a gift of Sen Dynasty and its kings who shared their blessings with the humanity and its well being. Possessed with the precious blessings I took my leave from the place to visit the next destination. Municipal Corporation, Shimla: I really liked the unique construction of the Municipal corporation of Shimla. The building has the grace and beauty of the buildings of the ancient times. The gray bricks against a white background looks truly great. We spent a few minutes near the building clicking photographs. It was a thoroughly unique experience.
Visiting Amusement park is the part of my multidimensional life as I love to get submerged in the lap of nature. I was relieved with the thought of office task and assignments and was enjoying every moment unlimitedly. Hip Hip Hurray Amusement Park Shimla is such a sort of park that would work as a healer to the working pains of an individual. Situated at the distance of 16 kilometer away from Shimla the park is spread in the area of 5000 sq m. the park houses amazing rides like gondola wheel, bumper cars, kiddies helicopters and several others to unwind and thrilled. Some indoor games like air hockey, redemption games, reality games, etc. are the added entertainment sources of the park. The activities that in enjoyed a lot and that fit into my characteristics were the adventure offered by the park like Burma Bridge Crossing, flying fox, commando net climbing and valley crossing. It is the combination of leisure and adventure activities which is favorable for both kinds of visitors. I was constantly coming down the commando net climbing and could not able to complete the set, but the other two adventure activities were simply cleared out by me without inconvenient. Commando net climbing was reviving my soldierly spirit throughout the activity. Having so many attractions for the visitor under one roof it is the perfect destination for the local as well as outside visitors to relax and chill out their moments. The park also houses a souvenir shop from where I purchased some of the memento for my friends and family members. Now the time came of relishing the mouth watering delicacies that are offered by the restaurant inside the premises of the park. I was bursting out of hunger and so I had them fully fledged to be unworried about my next serving of snacks. I captured few images of the Hip Hip Hurray Amusement Park Shimla and its surroundings to share them with my loved ones. The moments were really memorable to delightful. I managed to exit the park on time to cover the next destination for a temple of a Goddess in Shimla.
Now was the time to have some fun with the flora and fauna of Shimla Water Catchment Sanctuary. I was on the way to one of my beloved destinations for wildlife. Lying to the north of the Kufri and adjoining to National Highway 22, Shimla Water Catchment Sanctuary is located 12 kilometers away by east of Shimla. It takes around 20 minute to drive from the main city and reach the sanctuary. I passed through the Sanjauli-Dhalli Tunnel of Shimla. It was an unsurpassed experience to drive down the sanctuary. The site houses a fairly steep catchment for the water supply to Shimla. The water supply through series of steam pumps was once firstly reputed of its kind in India. Today the sanctuary is known to be the richest in the reserve of Himalayan flora and it bounds the tourists into its immaculate and undisturbed atmosphere. It was under Municipal Corporation of Shimla since 2006 and then taken over by the Wildlife Division of Shimla in the year 2009. To get the best hidden views that cannot be achieved by the vehicles is by trekking or hiking through the trails. These trails are easily covered on foot within the time period of 3 to 4 hours. Chharabra offers exciting wildlife sightseeing while leading through the trail. There is small cabin for the tourists to get their permits for bicycles and cars which is charged Rs 25 and Rs 200 respectively. I hired a bicycle to ride the forest from the wooden cabin. I could not express my sentiments as that was something which I never deed before. I was little terrified but excited at the same time. A guide was also there to show us the right path as there were other visitors too with whom I was accompanied. I mostly prefer to travel in group as I love to interact with them related to their work and hobbies. A wide variety of wild animals, birds and pheasants can be observed with great interests as they are available in some of their rare species. It took few hours to complete my expedition of Shimla Water Catchment Sanctuary and I caught another destination of an amusement park.
Mall Road, Shimla: The mall road of Shimla is quite silent and peaceful unlike any other city of India. I enjoyed shopping here. The beauty of this lane lies in its simplicity. I shopped several artifacts and daily wares from the Malls here. It was really enjoyable. Tourists make sure to visit the Mall Road.
The best way to reach Chadwick falls Shimla is by sharing a local taxi or trekking for an adventurous trip. It is 7kms away from the Shimla and takes around 45 minutes to walk from Summer Hill of Shimla. The falls plunge from the height of 1586 meters. The point is one of the favorite destinations for the tourists who come to visit Shimla every year. The falls is encompassed with steep hills of deodar and pine forests and the cascading sound is simply breathtaking. I dipped my legs in the gushing water of the fall and shivered for a while with its chilly experience but the fell was extremely distinct. The level of the waterfall escalates after the month of September when the monsoon is about to over. I was fortunate to visit this Shimla in the month of October and the water was dazzling like scattered crystals. The bounty of nature and its creative features are overwhelming and have the capability of mesmerizing the visitors. There are some of the old temples in the vicinity and can be pleasured if the tourists have enough time. I was too overwhelmed with the features of the waterfalls. I sat there for a while and glanced at the phenomenal and captivating views of the falls. It was enthralling me with the sense of ecstasy and rapture. I remained disconnected with the monotonous life of Agra where I reside and work and this was a milestone for me. Though I am not as adventurous as many of my friends but still can manage enough to enjoy the hidden beauty by trekking for a while. Hill station like Shimla needs a mood of adventure to unfold its concealed allure and poised nature. That particular moment compelled me to have a chance of living the life full of excitement and enthusiasm. I clicked few images of the Chadwick Falls Shimla to treasure them in my memories and my travel diary. The journey to the waterfall ended with a beginning of a sanctuary in Shimla and I moved on to replenish my delight with the next destination.
Bhima Kali Temple : I didn't know the trip to Himachal would turn out to be so interesting. I visited the Bhima Kali Ji Temple and realised that it was one of the best decisions I made in the trip. The temple has a magnificent construction with lovely carvings on the inside. I clicked several pictures.
