Our last destination of Ahmedabad was the very famous Akshardham Temple. The temple is located at Gandhinagar, which is at a distance of about 30 km from Ahmedabad. So we had our lunch in the streets of the city and headed towards the temple. It was around 40 minutes drive to the place. There was an entry fee of Rs.50-75 for adults for the exhibition and leisure show respectively.
On entering the premises, we realized that the reason for it being one of the major attractions near Ahmedabad .The temple is not only a delight for God lovers but is an architectural wonder too, and that is the reason, a large number of natives and tourists flock to this region.

Akshardham Temple is a true specimen of excellent craftsmanship, and it is also one of the largest and most striking temples in the state of Gujarat. Sited in the Gandhinagar city, the Akshardham temple is a single roof under which flourishes a number of things like art, education, architecture, exhibitions and research. It is undoubtedly an architectural masterpiece. The temple was established in the year 1992 as a dedication of Lord Swaminarayan and harbors a seven feet long idol of Lord Swaminarayan that turns to be a major highlight of the place.
We were amazed by looking at the tones of Pink stones that were used in the construction of the temple. We were witnessing a marvelous edifice of modern India. There was a huge lavish-green garden within the complex called Sahajanand Van. It incorporated a lake, waterfall, and herbal garden. We were told that in the evening, a magnificent water show is held in the garden, and we made a note to view that. We roamed about in the garden and then entered the intricately carved building. There were exhibition halls that were flooded with exhibits and numerous people admiring them.
It was like time was flying away and we were unable to see the entire temple. It was so vast. However, no cameras were allowed inside the temple, so we missed capturing the unique temple and its significant architecture.
